Accepted for publication:
A short story, Foolish Endeavors, has been accepted by Wild Photon, to be published in an anthology. My story was selected as an entry into their sci-fi writing contest. Foolish Endeavors is about a genetically changed dinosaur, written partially from the dinosaur's point of view.
Still Editing:
1. AFTERMATH, co-authored with Barbara Sanchez. Speculative fiction set in 2045 ... almost done with final edit and hope to start querying agents in the next 2-3 weeks.
2. THE EDGE OF EARTH, a story in which the world is really flat. A small group are ordered on a mission to the Edge, a place that no one has ever gone to and returned from. I love the ending! See my blog about this story as I made an art quilt based on it.
3. THE GIRL IN THE CORNCRIB, is a story I wrote a few years ago. I queried several agents and publishers without success. Now I intend to edit and revise as I believe my writing has improved with time and practice.
4. NOT ENOUGH ORPHANS, a story I started a while back and need to finish writing. It's based on a real 1802 expedition from Spain to the New World to share cowpox with the King's subjects ... cowpox was the first prevention against smallpox. I learned about this while researching for my PhD dissertation.
5. SHORT STORY COLLECTION, no title yet. Still writing short stories, inspired by my little bit of success with the one accepted for publication.
